Jackson Jackson's debut album, The Fire is on The Bird, was released in Australia in 2007 under Virgin Records both digitally and in a 'tri fold digipak'. The album's genre could be described as a mix of hip-hop and 'afrobeat' - though was met with an ARIA nomination for 'Best Urban Album'.

Four music videos were released from the album (but no official singles) - 'Eliza', and 'Cats Rats and Pigeons' (via Musichead Australia), 'Grab a Gun' and 'Intelligent Evolved and Insane' (independently). The 'Cats Rats and Pigeons' video received airplay on commercial TV stations upon its release.
