A single track promo containing the radio edit of The Car Song was sent to radio stations upon the release of the single in 2005. Pressed by Virgin Australia, the disc labeled PR668 was produced in a jewel case with no artwork, and an informational sticker down the bottom of the back of the case. As this was a radio release, limited copies were made, with few being seen on eBay and other websites (I myself got mine out of pure luck). The disc features the radio edit of The Car Song, which differs as it removes 30 seconds of the song from many points:
- about 0:35, shortens the music between the first and second verse
- at about 2:58, Ollie's keys solo is removed in its entirety, with the subsequent drum and bass solos remaining
- the big 'oooohhh' at the end of the song is removed.
