The Cat Empire - DVD releases / Australian live releases - On the Attack (2004)

On the Attack is a DVD/CD package consisting of live recordings, videos and tour antics. The filming and recording of footage took place between March and June, 2004. The DVD contains interviews and presentations on each band member, usually in their 'featured' song - for example, Ollie's interview took place as he played a long piano solo in How to Explain? - the recordings without interviews are found on the bonus CD. The DVD also contains various clips from their previous Australian tour, and both the US and UK tours from 2002. Some footage is recognisable from the three self titled era video clips - it is simply unedited, raw material.

'Easter eggs':
- The menu music consists of short clips from early demos. One clearly recognisable track is The Traveller, taken from a five track trio demo from 2000. At the end of the credits, the opening bars from the trio version of Rhyme and Reason is clearly recognisable.
- In the Encore menu, press your 'up' key on your DVD remote to find 'Play All Encore' option.
- Go into the Encore menu, then back to the main menu. In the bottom left, you will now be able to select 'Hello Lost Verse' as an option if you navigate to it.
- Go into the Set List menu, and scroll up to 'Nothing' - now go to your right - 'Egg' should appear. Go into this to see a very sick Harry trying to finish playing The Chariot.

At about 54 minutes and 40 seconds into the 'Set List' section of the DVD (Felix's clip just after The Lost Song) you can clearly see Felix writing down early lyrics for Sly (which was later played throughout the On the Attack tour in the latter half of 2004).
